I was born in Tennessee and lived in a coal-mining town until I was 8 years of age, when my parents moved to Ohio. I was number 7 in a large family of nine children, 7 boys and 2 girls. Very active in high school sports and played 2 years of college basketball. I graduated from Giffin College with a degree in Accounting and Business. Graduate of Ohio University with degree in Accounting and Finance. Took advance studies in Banking at University of Wisconsin and Rutgers pertaining to commercial and real estate lending, auditing, and International banking.

Banking: Active Banker for 12 years; as bank president for 5 years, commercial and real estate banking 4 years, and national bank examiner for US Treasury Department 3 years.

Industry: 11 years as divisional Vice-President of Artex/Riviana, a division of Colgate-Palmolive. Chief Financial Officer of Superior Coach Corporation/Mid Bus, manufacturer of school & commercial busses for 7 years.
